Yeah fibre-glassing or even wrapping carbon sheets if you have the know-how & money. The way I mentioned worked for me & gives it a solid internal core.

A roll of duck tape reinforced with strands of fibreglass costs about £7-8. I used it once as a temporary measure on a snapped SL-1 pole for an emergency to complete a job. I still have the section and although it's completely cracked in two; because one section sits inside the other the fibreglassed duck tape is keeping it together and it is still usable at 24ft.
