Just read this on BWCA website, hope too many people dont read it, everyone will start window cleaning!!

How Much Does a Window Cleaner Earn?
The amount a window cleaner is able to earn is dependent on many different
factors, such as location, how fast they are able to work, their
pricing structure and so on.

It is therefore difficult to give an accurate level of
earnings. However, it would be fair to say that
£20-£30 per hour is a generally conservative
estimate for a domestic window cleaner.

To illustrate, an average charge for a 4 bedroom
house is about £20, and an experienced window
cleaner would be able to complete it in approximately
25 minutes (including setting-up time). There will be
time spent travelling (which obviously depends on the
individual round), but almost all window cleaners using
reach & wash systems are able to quite comfortably turn
over at least £200 per day.

Unlike most businesses, window cleaning has extremely low
overhead costs and so almost all of the cash earned can be
drawn as income. Proper business planning, as with any

nobody around here earns £200 a day or gets £20 for a 4 bed house,

£20 for a four bed is going some round my area too- fifteen with the conservatory sides is reasonable. I don't think many are on £50k in my area, if they are then they dress down and deliberately live in small houses and buy scrap cars!

200 -17.5% vat= 165
165 - 20% tax  = 128
128 - 10 fuel     = 118
118 - phone, clothing, advertising, van payment, van repair, road tax, insurance, PL insurnace, accountant, wfp maintenance, tools, PPE, HSE signs, water bill, leccy bill, office,+++etc etc etc, all comes to about
£17.35 take home per day - sounds right to me.

To be honest there`s nothing that they`ve put in print that is a lie when it comes to earnings,there systems are pricey but that`s it.Everything they`ve ever said about possible earnings is true and acheivable.

you dont pay out much vat, and the down side is residentail customers wont want to take the hit and never will resident assoc(for blocks of flats and sheltered hosing schemes).

So unless you earn over £67,000 being vat reg doesnt make sense, 200 a day equals £52, 000 without holidays!

granted, residential won't but housing and res associations do.
so you are going to limit your turnover to £66999.
if you are doing your 200 a day, it only takes one good account to take you over the limit, what do you say to your residentials at that point?

aj if me a non vat paying company charges gayboy managemnet company 100 for cleaning some flats for a res assosfor 6 months and then goes vat reg and charge them 100 +vat then the management company have to take the hit has the res assoc are a non profit org and dont pay vat.

they will not be happy with taking this hit cause that would prob be there profit from the window cleaning gone!!

also aj i didnt say i wanted to keep my turnover less than 67,000 but why pay vat till you need to??? if you turnover 52000 i dont think it makes sense to have the problems vat brings.This is my point.

VAT? what a stupid idea to pay that, and who would actually claim they earn even £52000 a year? let alone the vat threshold. Window cleaning is a cash business. The goverment rip's enough people off and pes the tax payers money up the wall
