What hours do you work?
« on: September 09, 2008, 04:02:42 pm »
Just trying to work out how i can increase my income other than win the lottery!

However, just wondering what hours everybody else works per day, per week, and what time people start in the morning, to see if that may be the remedy. (Obviously working in the rain is a factor, showers i do, i dont if its anything more, but i think i will be soon).

Im not going to say what hours etc i do until i get some replies>

Cheers Craig ( An I need to earn more window cleaner)

When I first started cleaning about 10 years ago Id do no more than 25 hours a week. That was it, no more, I was adamant one of the benefits of being self-employed was that I could sit at home and scratch me arse for half the working week :o

However, my attitude has changed since then. Its not unknown for me to do 30 hours a week now  ;D

I did 7 yesterday  :o

But thats cleaning only, doesnt include things like paper-work/organising the round for the week ahead/collecting/pricing up/etc

I start when I drop off my nipper at school, 9.15 ish by the time I get to my first job.  Normally finish in time to pick the nipper up at 3.30.   Somedays I work later, somedays I finish early.  thats why I love being self employed.

TVCS, thats basically my hours!

My thinking is i need to start earlier and finish later. Sorted part of this since i started this post. There is a breakfast club at my childrens school so i can drop them off for 8am, excellent an extra hour at least a day. Thats a start!  obviously i still have paperwork, computer work and collecting to do too, so need to sort that out too.

my 400 litres runs out within 5 hours of work. Another hour of travelling to and from home and between jobs.
The odd day i will turn my flowrate down just to complete an area.

Some days i won't start until mid day. Not cos i'm lazy (well sorta maybe  ;D) but because i work away from where i live and i socialise alot in the areas i work.
So if i gotta meet someone at 5pm, i will start later so i haven't got to come back home and then drive back out there later in the day.
I'm a bit of an anorak when it comes to fuel consumption.  :)
