Assuming London water is 250 TDS (which is thereabouts depending on area) , the resin needed to filter it would be approx 1 x 25 kilo bag for 2,000 litres.  Assuming £75 a bag, that would be about £30 for the 750 litres.  So doing it resin only would be around the same cost (give or take) if my sums are right.

sometimes its a matter of, a day off work earning nothing, or go to work and be down £30 on the day.
I've only used it couple of times, first when RO went over night and i filled with bad water, second time when I didn't turn the tap on. Doh!

is that how much it cost to purify water at 250 tds... madness, thank god i live in a 047 area... at four months of water my reading after my RO is still 002, so i think my resin will last for ever....

does it no cost you much then to make water because your not using resin?

tds 002 is usable water, there is not really any point in polishing it off to 000 with resin. If you consistently get 002 why bother buying resin.(although 1 bag will last ages)
I use water up to 005 then change the resin.
My water comes out of the ro at 012 - 019 so thats why I need resin.
