« on: September 07, 2008, 09:37:17 am »
hello all! just wondering if anyone could help me! i am on a builders clean and i think i'm following the worst painters possible!!!!! the hinges on the doors or supposed to be brass and i thought they were painting them white!! (really are that bad) i don't particuarly want to scrape or scrub with scourers as it will damage it! does anyone know or use there own methods for removing the paint????

Many Thanks
Will

i think i you use nitromors on brass it will tarnish the metal so try on only one to begin with, if you contact a firm called graffitihotline i am sure they could provide you with a safe chemical to use or at least give you a bit more info.
better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove any doubt

Tell the forman that you cannot possable be expected to remove all the paint from the hinges get them to replace them at the painters cost or if thats a no, take a hinge off and soke in gun wash you will get this from most automotive trade suppliers
