is it possible to buy a electric washer that you can alter the pressure on?? ie high pressure for some jobs low pressure for other jobs

Hi Mark,

As long as the electric pressure washer that you buy has
a pump with an adjustable unloader there should be no
problem adjusting the pressure higher or lower, it's the
same principle as on a gas powered pressure washer.

Hal, you know as well as I do that the unloader will only change the stall pressure and not the running pressure given a fixed nozzle size, whats needed is a motor with variable speed or stroke adjuster as in a swash plate pump. electric washers tend to have an internal unloader which means that the pump will overheat if it runs in an unloaded condion for any time. It ain't just a case of buying a m/c with an adjustable unloader - given the original thread the correct type of m/c will need adjustable flow without changing nozzle size

Surely you jest,

I don't know what type of electric pressure washers you
are use to, but I sell these every day of the week. The ones
I sell have an external by-pass feature so you won't over heat
the pump and the pressure is completely adjustable using the same size nozzle.
Take a look at one of the models I carry.

Thats right this one does but as you stated its not just done by adjusting the unloader - its done by adjusting the flow either by the motor speed or the pump stroke. I said most electric pumps have internal unloader - ok this one does not. The original thread stated he wanted an electric machine that would adjust to give high / low pressure which is not done by the unloader alone - I don't care how many machines you sell over here but you must give the correct imformation to do so.

I always try to give the correct  information and in this case my information is correct. You said in your first line that I said its not just done by adjusting the unloader. I only have 2 replies on this topic please show me where I stated that. I viewed your website just a suggestion I would stick to pressure washing if I were you advice is not one of your better

I have nothing to gain - I've not got a pocket to line by trying to push a certain type of machine, I was just trying to explain the point that the common electric m/c's over here ain't that easy to adjust the running pressure and that if it had an internal unloader adjusted low it would cause problems. As suggested above you need a machine with the specific adjustable pressure, as with a petrol machine you would lower the revs to achieve this. Vals just got the hump with me after all he is just out to flog machines !
