Gas and electric price rises
« on: July 31, 2008, 09:15:41 pm »
Keep thinking with all the price rises with gas and electric will it mean less money spent on us guys.
Its going to cost the average householder much more in bills this autum and winter so will they spend less cleaning carpets and upholstery?

How will you guys try and keep the work coming in if it does go quiet?

according to all the glass is half empty guys, designer fashion will die, no one will go to football matches, we'll all start rolling our own and the likes of b&h and lambert will fold, pubs will be empty and unfortunatly spindle, no one will eat out. and we'll all live in poopholes.
but if your a glass is half full kind a guy like moi. life goes on. theres money out there just waiting to be spent on all of the above including cc.
as that famous song goes
dont worry be happy, wooooo wo wo woooo woooo, you know the rest,
come on sing along, wooooo woo woo woooo wooo wa woooo
dont worry be happy.

People wont be rushing out to buy new carpets and furnishings they will be having there old ones cleaned instead.
I honestly think tha cc's will be one of the few trades that will benefit from the times ahead, the only problems we may have is new guys starting up on a p/t basis trying to make ends meet.

Question?

Will people invest in carpet rather than hard floors as carpet will keep the house warmer and the heating bills down?

no sorry clinton

i work 4 days a week.............1 of those days will be a double shift 8am-10pm in reality i work 35 pw

no i dont advertise :o :o :o  used yp once.........never worked for me
i have business cards that i take with me everywhere and get them out if i sense an oppertunity .  most of my work i get from the wife or from general word of mouth.
oh i also have a few estate agents....

when i started 2/3 years ago i printed my own leaflets at home ......posted about 2k
(some people still have them )
and word of mouth does the rest for me.......

i would like to go f/t cleaning but i cannot  due the inconsistancy of c/c..........some weeks not much then other weeks rushing round like a blue assed fly..... :P
i guess if i advertised more i would get more business .....swings and round abouts
as it is i do very well considering that i have small overheads.....

oh and i run a porty!! :o ;) ;D
