Things you like and dislike about Traditional
« on: July 25, 2008, 01:52:48 pm »
Just like my WFP post it would be good to see what people like and dislike about tradional.

Like's

You can see instantly the results.

Much more satifying

Take's greater skill than a pole.

Dislike's

Keep going up and down those ladders.
Washing line's
Dogs C**p
Hard to reach windows.
Harder work than using a pole

Or if somebody opens a garage, or kitchen door.  :(

I would never, ever rely on anyone to foot a ladder. I would rather use every ladder aid going or manoeuvre my van to use as a ladder stop than rely on absolutely anyone. :) I still use a ladder for access on commercial jobs only, otherwise it's 100% WFP work

Things I like about trad: nothing (it's tiresome, tedious, slow, boring, hard work, poor paying by comparison and involves going up ladders)

I like the simplicity of trad. Minimum investment needed, low overheads and low maintenance.

I dislike really hot or humid weather, awkward windows, thorny plants.
Do all the good you can, and make as little fuss about it as possible.

taking work off wfp because they dont the message...residential customers dont like it...picked up 4..yes thats right 4 of a wfp just because i wipe the cills...today. i love trad, i really do, its simple, wipe cills do front doors, dont skip n punters are loyal for life, now all you wfp guys are gunna slag me off, that's really ok, i don't mind, i'm just speaking from experience and getting my rounds fatter, but to put balance on this, i do have wfp for some 3 storey leaded, the wfp turned it from a nightmare to a pleasure but i only do the fronts which are leaded, the back n sides are tradded.

Slippery decking,

steep ladders in entry ways beside a house,

porches, conservatories, tile roofs

Like,

views are better than when doing wfp

being up close and personal

keeps you fitter than wfp
