floors 2 go have gone
« on: July 23, 2008, 06:21:31 pm »
Nipped in to a carpet retailer today, he said sales are up on last year, but told me floors 2 go have gone bust, so maybe the fashion is turning back to carpets. Which would be nice. :)

The last 6 months I have only been getting enquiries on laminate for the odd lounge or dining room. Quoting on 2 full houses at the moment, having carpet throughout.

There will always be a market for luxury tiles like Amtico and Karndean.

But the diy sheds have knocked the stuffing out of laminate. Wickes are selling one for £ 5.99m2.

The decent ones I deal in are upwards of £ 20m2.

£ 5.99 ! A sheet of 6mm ply costs about that  >:(

It's a red carpet, hope I get it, it will be an eye opener, but bet they give it to a splash and dash merchant. ;)

Actually yes waiting a phone call, re XX doing three Saterday before I pop down to Surrey to scrub off. I do draw the line with other immoral earners where indirectly I/we are paying for it. ;)

Never be able to get it out of carpet or leather is there a trick of the trade., and yes I have been ask :-[

Been in recently re vamped B & Q and they have a massive 250 - 300 square metres display of laminates of all grades, can't see then giving up so much space if not profitable.

That's floor area, it also covers three walls at approximately 50 metres x 2 metres.

I have however noticed that showhouses are fitting carpet throughout with bathrooms and kitchens tiled.

The original owner of Floors 2 Go sold the business not so long ago.  The same owner started another business that was very similar.  I was talking to one of the sales team at the new company about 2 months ago and he explained it all to me.  All the staff of Floors 2 Go had bright orange uniforms the new company he started has all his staff wearing bright Pink uniforms.
