Water Only Through Pumps?
« on: July 21, 2008, 07:30:22 pm »
Are the sureflow/flojet pumps only designed for pumping water?

Thinking of using my Freedom trolley for a chemical mix, maybe TFR or Fenwicks or other cleaner.

Also have a Shurflo backpack which was originally designed for crop/garden spraying so presume a non caustic fluid is OK through this pump.

Any help or advice?

Cheers

ive used non caustic tfr with my flojet and its still working fine , i dont think i would try anything other than that incase it damages the rubber seals inside the pump .

hi
i have used my sure flo back pack for pre treating conserv roofs with an alkaline cleaner , and also to apply gg3 to really dirty first cleans, then wash / rinse of using van mount. give it a good rinse out after ,and run pure water through the pump for a while to clean it after , been doing it regular for over 12 mths now - not damaged pump yet, and i still use it to clean the odd house here and there no probs.
