I have the steel easy snap (rectus i think there called) connectors for my mini bore and the female one's seem to get dented all the time and i have trouble getting the male pole hose connector in and out.

Before i was using the pro connectors gardiners sell and they were heck of a lot better just hard to disconect sometimes.

I like the easy snap connectors as they clip in and out easy and they fit my trigger but they don't seem to last as well as the pro connectors.

So can you get brass easy snaps and if so are they stonger than the steel one's

yes you can, try pirtek. I think they have a website  but they aint cheap

You can get stainless steel one as well

I would say the brass ones would be worse than steel

Brass is a softer metal so would wear quicker

does nobody make plastic protector caps that will fit this size of connector
they do em for other sizes
like a washing up liquid cap
if you use the 2 piece type connector (brass barb and screw on valve) it would slip over thebrass tail then screw valve on,then you just clip the cap over to protect valve
if nobody makes them already then somebody should

Things i wouldn`t buy in plastic or brass would be these connecters,they won`t last 5 minutes in brass.

we have half a dozen of them in brass - supplier had none of the steel left so they just sent us them instead, apparently the retail on the brass is £14.90 + VAT each.

They seem to last as well as the steel.

Why would you want brass?

The difference between Brass squeegee and stainless steel? Everyone should know that one.

Put one of these (protectaball) on there aswell, gives a little bit more protection, anything is better then nothing.

Also when reeling it in, have your connector already next to the hosereel, ie. walk back with it to your hosereel, and only then start winding the hose in.

Hi tim i already have the protecta balls on been using them for a couple of years.

And i walk back with the connector but you can't help them getting bashed as you work and i think the metal is pretty rubbish on the female connectors.

I have had a few female one's now that got knocked within a day or two then you have trouble getting the male connector in.

I prefer the pro fittings but they can't be conncted to my triggers so i will just have to put up with the easy snap ( thats before there knocked) connectors

Indeed, that is very true, I've found that, I'm using the trigger, and a protecta ball, but somehow, well I think the ball isn't big enough, if you let it down on the ground, it almost always bashes on there. You woulnd't have that problem with not using a trigger, because you can have two protecta balls, one on the male end, and one on the female. Not so with the trigger. Yea it can be annoying, I really do not like the sound of it hitting the pavement. They are expensive.
