RX20 wins again.
« on: July 13, 2008, 11:45:27 am »
Us owners of these superb bits of kit can tend to take them for granted, but when they literally zoom over the job, leaving a fantastic clean in their wake, we are once again convinced of their superiority when dealing with large areas so efficiently. Oh! and not forgetting the £400 that took just two hours to rake in.

Looks and sounds very impressive!

What area did you cover in 2 hours?

Was the carpet particulary dirty?

Hi Dave

What sort of TM power do you need to operate one of these ?

Cheers

Simon why are you posting under Tom Bramwells name?

I know the feeling Dave.
We've got three of the HE versions lined up to do the lower level of the Britannia Restaurant on Queen Mary 2 on Wednesday, 1,649 sq yds in 3.5 hours. This will really put the Titan through its paces.

Simon

bit late their deleting it,  ::) ::) really does make 'Toms' other posts interesting reading.

Dave what procedure did you use on the carpet  I see you've got a wand fitted, did you edge the room with the wand ? and it looks like you've got wand marks running down the centre, did you post wand it?

Area was 200 sq yds, it was a dining room, never been cleaned in 5 years its been down. Grubby at serving area and doorways, with food marks where tables had been, otherwise not too bad. TM Blueline Thermal wave with a 5 blower, 250ft hose run, set to single wand operation and 200 deg F at 250 psi.
RX20 fitted with holed glides. Wanded the edges and seams also as keen eyed Mike spotted post wanded, to extract a bit more, straighten up some swirl marks and take a bit longer over the job. I mean £400 for an hour and a half might have been seen as taking the p---.

Mike,
There you go jumping to conclusions.
I was in Birmingham this morning on my way home from Southampton and called into to have a brew with Tom who is a friend of mine, indeed it was me that recommended this forum to him. I used Tom’s computer to add a reply to Dave Lee's topic not thinking that it would come up as Tom and not me. As soon as we realised we deleted the reply.
The trouble is you have now brought into question Tom’s input to this forum and quite unjustly so in my opinion. Rather than leaping to your own conclusion wouldn’t it have been better to have contacted me and sought an explanation off line rather than destroy Tom’s credibility in such a public way whilst at the same time accusing me of duplicity.

I asked a simple question, don't see how its brought any ones input into question,

'destroy Tom’s credibility in such a public way' stop being so melodramatic ::) ::)

Dave I've heard it said about the RX20 & Rotovac that it leaves quite bad swirl marks, do you think it would matter to the customers if they were left or do you think the pile needs resetting?

Mike,

Melodramatic?
I put a post on on a friends computer at 11.52 and sign it Simon even though it was Tom's log in and minutes later realise the mistake and delete it, at 12.04 you have looked at it and made a snap decision, other wise why write, 'bit late their deleting it,  ::) ::)really does make Toms other posts interesting reading.' The inference being that I am Tom, or Tom is me. If that is not the inference you were making then please explain what you meant.
Everyone knows me but not so Tom and through you're over eagerness to spot something untoward you have destroyed Tom's credibility on this forum.
The word you're looking for Mike, is sorry. You may even like to withdraw the comment as you having completing misread the situation.

A Blazer with 250ft will do.

Doug,

You can use an RX on just about any Truck Mount from a Prowler upwards, the only difference is the speed over the carpet and the drying time with the less powerful TM's.

mike, i find swirl marks are dependant on the amount of soiling, if it has been a minger and now it looks the dogs-doo-dahs i don't bother to brush out and never had a complaint, if the carpet was only so-so dirty i would probably try to brush out a bit or quickly go over it with a wand to set the pile,

Colin,
I have been using RX's for over 20 years and while domestic customers don't like the swirl marks, I've never had a complaint from a commercial customer who always seem to be over the moon with the result.

When I used my Extracta Exel I used to use the Scrubba Deluxe with it all the time with fantastic results.

Unfortunatley the Extracta tools are not up to the pressures of Truck Mounts, so I cannot use it with my Prowler and do miss it.

The RX may well be something worth looking at, anyone got one for sale?

Although the RX20's last for ever an alternative could be the rotovac 360, not as heavy duty perhaps takes a little longer but about a grand cheaper, I think Nick is selling RV's aswell as Alltec.

I've used an extracta scrubba super 20 on nightclub carpets in the past with no problems running with a T/M, so it might be worth you giving it a try?
