had a problem some 2 weeks ago with leisure battery not holding charge, check wiring today to split relay
found a wire not in place , which had come loose from connector, i was unsure were to reconnect wire
after looking in terminal box for pump and split relay ,i decided were i felt  wire should go  , maybe i was wrong ?,
today i removed battery  and them  tried  turning pump  on without been   connected to leisure  battery
no joy , however turned ignition  on , pump ran ok
is this correct  or is a case of not been wired correctly
any help would be appreaited

If you disconnected your leisure battery and then turned on you pump? It should not work, not until you turn on your ignition, reason for this is simple, If you flatten your leisure battery then you won't inadvertently drain your vans battery, you could say its a simple safety device.

yes you are correct , the pump only works when i turn ignitions on , it does not work when ignitions is turned off hopefully i reconnected wire in to right termial block and battery will start  to be recharge when van is running

If you have an electrical multi-meter? You can connect the positive and negative leads onto the input of your relay, with the ignition off, you should have No reading.
With the ignition on, you should get a reading, this will confirm your wiring is correct and your auxiliary battery will charge.

Going by your post, you have wired it correctly.

The size fuse should be the same as the manufactures supply for your pump, my 100psi came with a 10amp.
