Thanks. I'll remember that as it looks like being a regular twice yearly job.

I recently did an inside clean for a gentleman with UPVC frames. He's also a heavy smoker and you can guess the state of the frames which he also wanted cleaning. I used Ettorre Squeegee Off and it was fantastic at getting off the nicotine stains. Brought the frames up lovely real quick. However, I had a limited supply of Squeegee Off on me and ran out just before I finnished. I used Fairy to finish the last frame. It was absolutely awful. Sticky horrible mess it made. Left my hands in a right mess too.

Ettorre Squeegee Off works best for me. Cuts right through the grease.

Ettore squeegee off is a professional window cleaning product designed for purpose - as you found for yourself fairy is not!

Just looked in garage. the SYR Slide professional window cleaning detergent I bought about 12 years ago is still there. Just doesn't slide at all, not enough friction reducer in it.

I bought some Unger professional detergent about 6 month ago. That doesn't slide either. Ended up throwing it away. Both just catch and leave smears whilst Fairy liquid, in its favour,  does slide over the window without leaving smears.

I will buy some GG now though to see if that is any good.

I am not trying to convert you to using something else we all do things different and I have given my reasons why I dont use fairy washing up liquid anymore.

The reason it doesn't slide is that you are used to applying a lot of pressure to remove the fairy from the glass.

If you got used to applying the correct pressure, you would notice less fatigue, do a better job with less effort and not have much detailing to do if any.

If you want to change over you need to re-train your brain. Just add a little more of the professional solution of your choice and start to reduce it over a week or two to get the hang of it.

If you tried fairy again after getting used to gg3 you would never go back  ;)

At least with Fairy, if the customers came the old game.. "not this time", you'd just add a lot more Fairy the next time and before you knew it, the moaning customer was back to a regular clean :)

Can't do that with wfp, shame ;)

I am 100% wfp now mainly domestics, except for insides, which are rare except inside of two office buildings.
I did commercial only for 10 years, inside and out, and never normally detailed with Fairy and never had a problem with it. I used to stick ammonia in when doing dirty jobs and that does clean.

its GG3 to mix with soft (pure) water and gg4 to mix with hard water.

I live in a soft water area so I have gg3 as I can mix it with tap or pure  ;)

I just find that pure water and gg3 works better when cold then cold tap water a gg3 on internal jobs.  Hot water would be better than cold so I use hot tap water and gg3 when I have access to it.  I am just about to fit a hot water system which will be even better. I live in a soft water area. The TDS here is 70ppm

I dont know the science but I have one particular job that I have been able to experiment on. Hot tap water is the best mixed with gg3,  then cold with pure and gg3, then cold tap  and gg3. I have not tried hot and pure with gg3 yet.

Hot water does save you time because it makes it easier to remove grease.

I hope this is some help, I wonder if others find the same?
