hiya. this is mine. you can't see very well, but I have a 400 litre upright against the bulkhead with a 125 litre behind it (in front of it in this picture)

a 250 litre would have fitted, and still left room for my ladders BUT.... fully loaded with 525 litres, 19kg gas bottle etc I am 50kg overweight in the morning if I was to fill both tanks fully.

and my 2.0 jtd has the largest carrying capacity of the range.

I should be 2330kg max but I would was 2380 kg when I tried it out on a weighbridge.

there are many guys who carry 650 litre flat tanks in these motors who claim not to be overweight, but I can't see it myself

happy motoring!

Mines similar but I like to work out of the side door so have the reel mounted above the tank. I notice you've got ordinary hose coming out the heater Dave. I had to change mine because it kept blowing. Watch out for that.

Also I couldn't see if you had a bypass back to the tank or not. This you may find usefull. I can show you a picture if you haven't got one.

thanks discount. i've changed my hose since this picture. hot washing machine hose seems to be doing the job ok.

why do I need a bypass?

All it is is a tap fitted midway in the hose that goes to the reel. This leads back into the tank. There are a number of advantages.
1. You can turn the heater on and have water going through it without having to open the pole hose tap.
Say you return to the van because the water has stopped pumping and you don't know why.You open this tap back to the tank and the varistream should start up as if you were at the pole.

2. you can release the internal pressure in the system without having to let water out through the brush head.

3. you can heat water directly back into the tank.(in winter this can take the chill off things)

4. In winter (think nights where it's minus eight) you can run the heater inside the van for twenty minutes last thing at night.
5. There are other reasons but mainly it gives you greater flexibity.

If you've read some of the threads Nathaneal does things differently

doesn't it damage your pump running 60 degree water through it?

I have thought of keeping my 125 litre tank at the temperature I require (especially for winter could keep it at 30-40 degrees)

sorry mjh, I don't know what a polytunnel heater is, so I guess the answer is probably no.

discount, the pump is before the heater, but if I use a bypass to put some of the hot water back into the tank, then i'll be pumping hot water back out won't I ?

lastly, ok cleaning, it was a bit cramped, now the gas bottle is underneath  the ladders, as i've moved my 125 litre tank across to the right. it's much better now and as long as I can get my hosereel and pole in and out easily i'm happy

It dawned on me today that might be what you mean't. Sorry, yes they are on demand systems which makes them superior to any other system in terms of fuel economy and temperature control. The bypass tap I mentioned is not to get a tank full of hot water, it if for the reasons i gave.Normaly the tap is closed. At some point in the future especially if you have any problems you might remember I mentioned this.

Notice I have an extra in line filter(there's a strainer in the pump box), and the hosereel is mounted above the tank. The elecric reel mechanism is on the side you can't see. Notice that I do not have a DI on board.
