Is the 12inch brush on your site a Tucker brush?

They told me they had a new brush coming out only for me to find that it was the vikan square 1,i have looked through my favorites Alan and can`t find the link you need,i think Alex`s new 1 comes out in a couple of weeks or so or you could always buy a 12" Tucker i know you can afford 1.Once converted it`s a good brush although 50 notes is ridiculous for a stock with bristles.

£50 is even more expensive since you need to modify it yourself to fit a gooseneck.

I will wait on the new brush from Gardiners, hopefully it will be good. I've got the Ionics multipole brush, bit stiff, but great for cleaning frames etc, don't mind pressing down a bit harder.

As far as I am aware Tucker dont make brushes.
The brushes we supply from the USA are as far as I can tell identical to the Tucker brush and I am fairly sure come from the same manufacturer.
They have the same Dupont filiment.

Why do you charge over £50 for a sill brush and nearly £50 for a swivel brush, that`s way over priced.

I paid £69 for one of peter's auto brushes. I can see why he changed the design, and I don't believe it was because of accidental switch offs. I think it's a scratcher, two ends of a metal plate either side.

I haven't used it yet, but even with my vikans i've scratced a few sills, this looks like it would take gouges out.

This is why the Tucker type brushes are best as they are all bristle and hardly any stock,Alex`s new brush is very similar to it only lighter with better mono bristles. They scratch the sills because of the thick bulky stocks on them, well your not going to scratch sills with soft bristles are you.

Not being funny, but can someone explain to me the point of an auto-brush? Why not turn the water off at the pole hose valve?

As you know I've been going about a year now. A customer said "you're scratching my sills" I didn't really beleive him but i had . I checked all my other customers and ,yep, all of them. Luckily the scratches come out so I have been busy hiding the evidence before anyone else notices.

I've tried putting tape on the end stock of the vikan and this seems to help.

I bought one of those, is it bentley? off alex, very light but useless. I use it for gutter work. Those ball things he puts on are useless too.

ftp. I can't explain no. I thought i'd get one and try it, but it looks to me like a scratcher. If anyone else has one and they don't scratch please correct me.

If your going to do sills clean all the top windows on 1 side of the house and go back along and do the sills afterwards, when doing the sills after windows angle the brush more in a downwards position, your only scratching the sills because of the angle of the brush head.

Totally agree, all you need is one on/off tap on the end of your hose then any pole with any brush can be connected to your hose,so no need for seperate "autobrushes"  ;)

well I got speaking to a wc'er near me (who has asked not to be named) - he has both the Tucker and Omnipole brush.  I had a go with both and can say for sure that the Omnipole is useless.

Nowhere near as soft and useable as the tucker, a lot heavier and @ £36+VAT, sorry Glyn, I'm not buying it.

The tucker on the other hand was good, it was light, the bristles splayed nicely and it seemed to glide over the glass.  Is it worth £50?  I think it may be.  We use salmon brushes, they're 11" long and light as a feather, the only problem is they have a tendency to curl up (the bristles) and can be a little too soft.  Ordered a couple of Ionics brushes today so I will report back my findings on them, the 2 Ionics brushes cost less than 1 Tucker!

I'm hoping the ups are okay.

I've been scratching the sills downstairs while cleaning the glass side to side and using the brush parralel to the ground. The end stock has been catching the sill.

Why does Glyn get it in the neck all the time. He probably comes on here to relax. I use hot water so prefer a firmer brush, so the brushes might not be useless for everyone.

Why did you ask the question  - As a wind up?

I cannot possibly say what brush your friend has as we sell dozens every week and carry probably 15 to 20 different brushes.
As an example we carry four different Tucker type brushes from the USA.

How can the brush be a lot heavier when its identical - same Dupont bristle, same backing and same fixing staples ?

Glyn, I posted a while back asking if your brushes were the same as tucker because the tucker is the best brush I've used.

If yours are the same I was wondering if you would consider selling them already adapted to fit the standard poles most of us use. Save having to buy a tucker, sourcing the bits then modifying it.

IMO the tucker is a great brush, but reluctant to through hastle of converting one. I'm sure ther's a few of us who would buy them from you already converted.

Hi DD
Its not a problem for us to convert the brushes- what would you describe as a standard pole fitting?

The plastic gooseneck on the average fibre glass pole. So the brush would need to have the same sort of thread as a vikan.  :)
