I seem to get this same problem every now and then.

I turn on the pump and vacs, pull the trigger on the wand and just get a drizzle of water with almost zero pressure - check the pressure gauge, its reading zero, keep the machine running for approx 5 mins and slowly and sporadically it starts to build pressure until it returns to normal again, the pump isn't noisy.

When I finish a clean I empty the water tank as usual by taking off the vac hose and sucking the remaining water into the waste tank and it may inevitably suck in a little air as I clear the last of the water, but I'm talking about 10 seconds max.

Anyone else getting this problem?

On the subject of this machine, the safety overflow valves on these machines are useless, twice now it's failed, they don't screw on, there just a push fit and its impossible to see weather its seated correctly and very awkward to feel.

On the plus side I get good results with the machine coupled with a wonder wand, it really does a good job, extracts the water very efficiently- 3 buckets in and there's virtually 3 buckets coming out.

Paul i have one of these machines with a wonder wand and find the results really impressive.Do you let the pump run through the grey hose for a couple of mintues before starting your first job of the day as this eliminates the pressure problem i find.Regards Alan Turner(swindon)

Hi Paul
Try what Alan has suggested.
I had a CFR and occassionally had to use the grey open ended soution hose to bleed the system.
Let us know how you go on.

Just to be certain - So simply connect everything up and ready to go - then switch on pump alone for 2 minutes before starting work? was that correct?

You probably got with the new machine a shortish piece of solution hose with a male connector one end and just an open tube at the other. Yes?
Put some water in the clean tank, attach this tube to the female solution conector, place the open end in a bucket. Start the pump motor.
Water should begin to flow from the tube into bucket, maybe a but jerky at first as the air is expelled but then continous flow As its an open ended tube there is no pressur so it just flows.
You can help the process on the way by using the vac motors and vac hose at the end of the open pipe to suck water out whilst the pump is running.

I dont think there is a real need for you to completely empty the clean water tank. In fact this may be part of the problem, sucking water from the pump so creating air. As long as you flush the pump thro with clean water at end of day.

A quick way to clear airlocks on this machine is wind up the pressure with the pump running ,
the needle hardly rises due to the air. Turn off pump for a few seconds, then turn it on, the air
 is expelled through the pressure bypass into the tank, very rarely need the drain hose, usually
only use that to heat tank when tap water stone cold.

I always leave some clean water in the solution tank, just enough to cover the intake filter . This way no air gets in causing the problem described above. Had mine for two years and no probs with pump, apart from a hose bursting.

No pump has not been serviced. Getting a bit noisier now though. May try it myself soon.  For last few months machine is only used for back up on jobs where access is difficult as I have a Prowler.
I think service parts and kits are available at Olympic  for these pumps.
