Anyone tried wet sand? put it down wet then brush it in, vac up when dry! works a treat and is good for the environment too!

I can supply it only £150.00 per bucket. Come on get yer orders in your customers will love it!

Not such a daft idea. Basically what dry powder cleaning is except its not sand but other mediums and not £150 a tub.

Hi Guys

A bit difficult to anwser this one as I use a whole range of different chemicals to remove a whole range of different stains, logical really !

On reflection I voted detergent because I use more.

It always makes me laugh when unqualified, in the technical sense CC's talk about the end of detergents, when highly quailified chemists are forever trying to improve them for the likes of Unilever and Proctor and Gamble, I know who I will believe

I believe the CC industry would benefit from using the proper chemical names for products rather that terms like microspitter which is a meaningless made up word, which people apply to various different products they are trying to sell.

We get ridiculous terms like second generation microsplitters to describe products which are nothing like first generation MS, all this does is confuse people which cynics might suggest is the idea.

I think the poll is really useful, as it does show what people prefer and are using in pratice when cleaning.

I for one thought i was going to use m/s for rest of my life and still keep some on the van, but have slowly gone back to standard detergents over last year or so , i find for myself i just get better results with them , but then do clean a lot of really dirty (eot ) carpets

over the past year I've moved away from using M/S on carpets, on upholstery I always use M/S.

the reason for using detergents on carpets is I've altered the way I'm cleaning. Now on most carpets I've cut out the agitation, and rely on more dwell time of the pre-spray to break down the soil.

I sure all the agitation used with M/S can be harmful to carpets ( more harmful that any thing else we use to clean carpets eg; heat or PH )

Well said Mike, There's nothing like using a duo on a wool carpet and the owner comes in the room and see's all those loose tufts of carpet everywhere and say's "Is that my carpet? what are you doing to it?"

over the years most of my call backs from customers have related to the type of agitation used, and the complaints from customers about other carpet cleaners were caused by their method of agitation.

I had a couple of years where A local '..............(' I've DELETED THE NAME TO STOP ANY TROUBLE, BUT THEY USED HOST)carpet cleaner was leaving some carpets like balls of fluff, he's not in business any more but I was amazed at how he left some carpets.

That happens with the cotton pad and rotary system too.
Just a case of saying the benefit of this system is that it is bringing to the surface all those broken fibres, along with the sock fluff that has got matted into the carpet

As for the vote I prefere the detergent cleans but use M/S for maint cleans and because it works out cheaper. When it comes to a carpet with numerous types of stains then a detergent will remove a lot of varients compared to M/S.

Surely that could have been rectified before leaving the property with a post vacuum and raking. Works for me.

Interesting Mike you use microsplitters on upholstery as i think they performed at their worst on upholstery. Maybe i'll have another go.

I use detergent based presprays if thats what we're calling them. Ive turned the pressure up to 500psi and now dont need agitation that often.

And no it dosent take longer to dry.

I find m/s to work very well on upholstery.
Dont think the magic water was just to be sprayed and left,
it does/can sometimes make stains disapear.
Havnt used detergents on carpets for a while,
but am openminded and may try again,
what do some of you reccomend.
Wont be chucking my m/s i think it has a place as the poll shows.
