What sort of distances are you travelling between Jobs? are you saying you have a split charge relay?

Hi vivaro 013, this is one reason I won't use a split charge relay, you have to cover some decent mileage to recharge the battery, your split charger and your relay must restore your vans battery before it starts to give a decent charge to your auxiliary battery.

You'll get guy's saying I have had one for years and no problems? All vehicles are different and so are there alternators  fitted to there vans.

If you have your own battery charger I would remove your battery every couple of days and recharge it over night, if its a leisure battery, you may be able to restore it back to a good battery, make sure the cell's are topped up with distilled water to just above the plates.

If you don't have your own charger then I would recommend you buy one from Halfords, there intelligent charger is very good.

Just buy another battery, cheaper than having to take time time off and messing about. Quite likely battery has had it.

Just keeep new battery better charged.

thanks again jeff
today when i finished battery was about flat with charge , when battery was tested today only after traveling 10 miles to garage battery showed a good charge and no broken cells, the battery itself is a leisure battery 110amps , the van itself is a fiat scudo only a year old , if i was to take battery of every couple off days and charge, i don,t think it still would last day out with extreme use when van is stationery and wfp is pole used frequently over 4 to 5 hrs . auto electain has offered to loan me another fully charge battery to try out to see  what results i get, what do other wfp users get out of there battery when van is stationery

we use 110 amph leisure batteries.
Have removed/disconnected split charge relays
as we have fairly compact round so do not
do enough mileage for the relays to boost battery.
We changed to an intelligent charger
from cleaning spot £40 mark
charge batteries in situ every couple of days and
have never had a problem

It really sounds to me your not getting enough charge back into it, a bench or like russ said in situ charge even with a new one it won't be long before its flat again, a pain in the bum but I charge mine every day and mine is years old.

I had a problem the same as this, spoke to one of the engineers at purefreedom.
If its a leisure battery you have to keep it charged, dont let it go flat it ruins it.
A battery even if flat can show 12 volts, it needs to be tested under load as does a battery charger.
Hope this helps

How old is the battery? These leisure batteries don't last long. I am about to buy a new one but the old one is only about a year old. It just goes flat.

I use 85 amp leisure battery. Split charge relay on van, but take battery out most days to charge overnight. Always carry a SPARE.

today i tried turning electronic flow regulator down to  roundabout medium pump seem to run slower but output of water seem about the same.overall. I would say i used a little less water , the battery seem to show less signs of going flat ,i was traveling between jobs on and off , on occasions van was standing for over a hour

110 amp hour battery should easy last more than a day.

The signs are saying the battery is on its way out, or it is being drained some how, I have a 110amh battery 2 can use all day and sometimes all the next day aswell.

I always carry 2 batteries just incase one goes out, I do not have a split charge relay I could have but charging one every night is a 2 min job that I can trust.

i have a battery from an articulated lorry, it will last 2 weeks off a full charge, then it still issn't totally flat, I use approx 500 ltr a day with that.

They are easy to get hold off, just try a laybay late at night - but be very quiet! ;)
