hi all
got an a ladder rubber block on order after advice from u guys. what are the grooves for? can they be used to put ladder up on outside of jome stone? are a ladders more secure than normal extensions? i only use for terrace at moment? should i use em more often, i.e., whenever possible etc

the grove is designed to hole either side of a brick/stone corner. A frame ladders IMO are 100% safer than conventinal ladders. where on a conventinal ladder you need 4 poins of contact on an a frame you only need 3 giving you more flexabilty as to where you can possition it. i'll get some pics tomorw. i only use A frame ladders unless going up to 3rd story.

Got to say that I wouldn't be without my 8' A frame.  A pleasure to use.

The grooves will also fit nicly over different points on a window frame. Just be careful that you don't take grit from brickwork to a window frame and end up scratching it.

Arent you describing a pointer ladder? An 'A' frame ladder is a ladder that is stand alone in an 'A' shape and you would use to change a lightbulb....... :

a step ladder has about 2 or 3 steps and is an A frame shape. maybe a light bulb example wasnt a good one to give! I should have said a ladder that you eould use to clean the inside of a conservatory roof.

rigth guys just too clear things up and clarify my question (and possibly stop a verbal war)...i mean a double extension "A ladder", i.e., a pointy ladder....not a step ladder or any other ladder...IN OTHER WORDS a WINDOW CLEANERS ladder..lol. seriously tho these ladders are great and i've been using one without a block. got block on order due to concern from this site and noticed they have pre manufactured deep grooves which i assume (wrongly or rightly) are for putting onto the outside corner of jomestones so no damage is done to the window....am i right or wrong

Yep, but they also fit nicely over window frames and ledges. Corners of houses to gain access to roofs ect.  Pointer ladders rule.
