Hi there,

blue green stains on the landing as a result of someone stepping on a bottle of
toilet duck.Can it be faded out or will I end up with bright patches?

Hi Eric

Welcome to the forum.

Tiolet duck does not usually contain bleach, is easily extracted using carpet cleaning machine and should not leave any discolouration.

Are you a carpet cleaner ?

yes I`m a carpet cleaner,I was previously registered on the forum under RICE
my computer got invaded with virus and I had to clear everything. I could`nt
re register under my old name so it was easier to start afresh.  I`m suprised to hear your advice as I`ve applied one step zip it and zap it and I`ve had zero transfer onto the cloth or with rinsing.By the way I`ve been carpet cleaning for over 20 years and like you I`ve removed this stuff before,perhaps she went at it with something herself before calling me.

She`s a regular and swears she did`nt but maybe the cleaning lady did as it was her fault.

Hello Eric

I would usually expect to be able to remove Toilet Duck colour even if it had been cleaned by the customer.

I suspect the dye has stained the carpet and would attempt to remove colour with a reducing bleach, such as sodium metabisulphite, it shouldn't be a strong dye.

Try a large branch of boots, in the wine/beer making area, its used to sterilise bottles in the brewing industry

Here we go Ian, on holiday last week I was just mooching around a general hardware type store and came across a rack of various pots and got Sod.Metabisulphate 55g for 59p. Made by Brewmaker so that gives a BIG clue where you will find it.

Hi Guys

I get mine from a brewing shop, I also but citric acid to act as an accelerator.

Brewing enthusiasts use it for sterilisation purposes.
