Condensation & water spillage
« on: January 23, 2005, 11:50:29 pm »
 Hi all,

With my wfp system one thing that has really annoyed me is the vent pipe on top of the tank.

Now this obviously this has to be there but i had enough of the water leaking out when i braked (if the tanks full) and the condensation in the van roof and windscreen, also twice now it has overfilled whilst filling as it was not 100% level which really really annoys me.
So, moving on i have now fitted a longer pipe of about 12 inches  ;) with a hoselock fitting on the free end. I now connect my pole to this when filling, overnight and driving to my first job. This enables the tank to "breathe" and any overflow will go to the outside of the van and not 6inches high in the front footwell!

I have now found that  i have no leaks, condensation or overflowing at all.

However it is essential to remove anything plugged into the vent when pumping as the tank requires air to replace the water being pumped.

Regards
