Ive got absolutely no objection to THe Shiner becoming the new mod

But given the reasons Trevor put forward for stepping down and Im sure Tosh before him would it not be better to replace Trevor with 2 or 3 new Mods

heehee, i was gonna put tennet and discount down for it as well. Squeaky would be good too as none of those 3 would take any prisoners and would i suspect, enjoy cracking the whip when needed.

Alistair

It isnt too bad in my section, I just delete what gets out of hand.

At times we have a few trouble makers and they soon get fed up when i keep deleting there posts.

I keep one eye on the window cleaning section and only interfere when i have to.

I'd personally like to see shiner as a fellow mod, thumbs up from me ;)

I've been away for a while and haven't been able to do much in the way of moderating, so it is nice to know Dave is keeping a weather eye on things.

And I've been so busy since getting back I've had hardly any time to to do much more than scan a couple of threads :-\

The Shiner (Paul) get's it from me; my vote that is.

I've met him in real life at the NEC Cleaning Show (or rather a pub close to the NEC), he's a big lively character.

My only reservation about the guy is that he's tee-total.  Why?  Is he a secret maniac and has to remain stone-cold sober otherwise he'll be out raping and pillaging?

But apart from that, he'd make a top mod.

Start as you mean to continue, take a firm line and ban everyone!

That'll teach 'em.

Then, ban 'em again!

i'll do it ;D

Well the truth of it is that I've stayed stone cold sober since the mid 80s because I never learned how to moderate the stuff so I felt it was better to stop completely.  Don't know about raping and pillaging while drunk though.  More like vomiting, falling over. and dishing out verbal abuse   ;D  .
The funny thing is that I don't drink, don't smoke, and don't eat meat or fish.  I find it hard to believe but I like life better this way.
Mind you, there may be something in what you say as Adolf Hitler was a teetotal, non-smoking vegetarian too.
Still want me as a mod LOL?
As far as modding goes I'm pretty tolerant and perhaps would let too much go.  There is one area which is my achilles heel and I do feel a bit intolerant if I sense even a mild attempt at someone promoting a particular belief system.  Sometimes I see it done subtly in ways that most people wouldn't be aware of because I know the terminology that is used and it doesn't seem to have altered much over the years.  Several times recently I've typed out a post then decided to delete it.  Nothing nasty you understand - just something jokey about me dancing around fires in the middle of the night practicing satanic rituals (I don't BTW  ;D  )  . However, perhaps being a mod would help me to become an even more tolerant person.  If I were to do it, it would very much be a bit part due to time constraints.  I question whether I would have the time to do it properly but am prepared to have a go.  I am away on holiday next week though so I wouldn't be doing much for a while.
Mind you, I may have to cancel.  I'm meant to be visiting Spain and my friend emailed me today to say he can't get any diesel for the two hour drive to collect me from Alicante airport.  It doesn't sound good does it?  I imagine public transport is stuffed too out there.
