Help needed with leaflet wording.
« on: June 10, 2008, 10:06:28 am »
I have been trad now for 6 months ish (part-time).  I have picked up about 150 customers.  50 are not very good as they tend to muck me about but beggars cannot be choosers.  I have picked these up just by word of mouth and people seeing out and about.  I have now decided to get 5000 A3 leaflets printed and need some help with my leaflet wording/design.

Apart from the obvious ie windows, gutters and fascias I want to offer dormer window cleaning as some of the estates by me have dormer windows which are never clean.  I need a good catchy design to include all these.

I am also going to get some t-shirts and sweaters done so I can make a real go at this.  So any tips on these would also be handy.

Thanks in advance

Jonathan

I got my 5000 leaflets designed by a company called fair print youll find them on ebay tell them exactly what you want and they will do the rest, printed both sides and sent to me for £125, but now there designed its only going to be £55 every 5000 i order from now, they desined them and made any changes i requeted then printed once i was happy. I also had a company from ebay do my shirts for around £9 you get the shirt, and stitched on front and back,

Yes, leaflets work.

They CAN even work by themselves, but they work much better with follow-up canvassing.

A word of warning ...

Spell check and grammar check. Get someone you really trust to check for apostrophes and that you are using your/you're and there/their/they're correctly etc.

Getting these things wrong can be the kiss of death to a leaflet.

A story I read on here was that someone had a call something like:

"I had your leaflet through the door the other day. I don't want a window cleaner, but I think you ought to know that accessible is spelt with a double c."

£70 for leaflet design is a bit steep. You should be paying £50 tops
