Just like to say a big thank you to all you guy's who gave me advice regarding the above issue.
The insurance came through today
for the carpet, We found out that there sending a cheque for the suite (don't ask me why they operate this way)
We have to give the carpet company £125 excess that's £100 for the excess and £25 because it was an accident :
what a weird insurance company we have, this was are first claim in 30 years, so we had no problems with the claim.
Popped down to our local carpet right, just to get an idea on carpet pricing and to replace our axminster is just over £1000
We may not go for the axminster, if we don't, there will be enough money in the kitty to go for a good quality front room carpet, including grippers, underlay and fitting, if we go for the wilton that the Boss liked, we will also be able to buy carpets, underlay and fitting of new carpets for the hall, stairs and landing.
Any tips of what to look out for on a good carpet, some we seen, you were able to wash with bleach and others had a 7 year stain guard, are these point worth the paper there written on?
Once again the Boss and I would like to thank all you guy's.
