Extra hours
«

hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone could offer some advise. I have been asked to put in a quote for cleaning my local football club. The cleaning would include working 7 days a week. The question i want to ask is would you pay your clean extra time over the weekend.
eg: saturday time and half
sunday double time
or is this not the time to do.
I would be grateful for any advise.
thanks kim

Hi!
Will you be doing this clean yourself or putting someone in to do the clean for you?
Either way I would certainly extra for the weekends. Are you doing a fixed number of hours per week? Take into account the 'inconvenience' and commitment involved in being able to provide this service everyday of every week. Also if your cleaner lets you down on a sat/sun morning its a lot of hassle trying to find a fill in at weekends & you'll probably have to go in yourself on these occassions!
I would imagine that the weekends are probably their busiest (and messiest)days anyway so they will be counting on you.
(Use this to your advantage!)
Good Luck!!

Thanks Jackie,
The cleaning will be done by one of my cleaners and it will be 5 days per weekand 2.5 hrs per day, including sat & sun. I will be quoting for time and half for sat and double time for sun.
I am going to be charging a daily price which I have taken into account the weekends and bank holidays thoroughout the year. Therefore making a average price for the daily rate. Whether this is right or not I don't know.

Sorry Maggie,
I was in the middle of doing something for one of my staff who is called Jackie. You know what it is like all the multi-tasking.

Hi Kim
With all this multi-tasking it obviously 'pays' too have extra staff!!
You have obviously been in the business longer than me!
In your experience do you push for the work first then the workers or vice versa? :

Maggie,
I have only been in the business 19 months and the last 4 have been the very busy. I have taken things slowly because you can then get carried away with yourself. From sept I went into the thomson and that has worked very well for me.
I was working where I got the work first but I was finding that there are only so many hours in a day one person can work (mainly myself). I was getting worn out. I now advertis for staff and then get the work.
How long have you been in the business?

Hi Kim
Just coming up for year although I do domestic cleaning as my own company more recently I have been sub-contracted by a bigger cleaning company who are based in another part of the country and have been doing the bulk of my work for them. Mainly sparkle cleans & maintaining show home. (Very nice!
).
Anyway I really want to get back to putting more into my own side of things!!
Thanks for your input!
Regards
Maggie
