Signs of trouble - payment
« on: January 17, 2005, 07:23:15 am »
Hi

After reading a post about late payments I thought it would be useful to list some tips on how to recognise when a company you contract to may be in trouble.

Here are some of the things to look out for:

Payments are late when they have previously paid on time

Excuses made - such as - the person who signs the cheques is always away, or it must have been lost in the post

Receiving a personal cheque for payment instead of a company one

Payment bouncing

Anybody else got tips on what to look out for?

hi there,

if you are doing a regular office clean, and you have ops doing the jobs, instead of yourself, ask them to watch out for desk thinning.

another one is when the removal crates are in the premises, but no one has told the cleaning company they are moving, ive had clients in the past ring on a thursday, saying " we are moving over the weekend, last clean friday" they really dont care some of them.

also personnel changes, are a good sign, that something although innocent may be afoot.

regards

This goes for sub-contractors working for cleaning companies too! :-[Continual change of mobile phone contact numbers!!
Worse still never being able to get hold of them because they're always in meetings with (you guess'd!! :o) the bank manager!! ::)
