« on: May 25, 2008, 12:01:13 pm »
i am sure we have all dissused this topic before, but it just might work,i left a cup out today, just to see what the tds would be with pure rain water, and  guess what it came out at 2, not bad eh,anyway, what would be the best way to get it from a water butt and through a di,i know we don,t all wish for rain in our job,but with £1000 water bill each year it,s worth looking in to.

if you google 'rain water collection' then quite a few come up. some good systems for about £2k but does include digging in a huge storage tank....these systems give clean enough water to put into an ro system.

cheers

with a tds of 002 all you would need is some sort of filter, something like what they use in tropical fish tanks. I reularly use water with a tds up to005 so a tds with 002 is nothing

You say £1000 water bill per year, is that a water meter.Im new to wfp and am amazed how much water i am wasting. Plus at moment i am not on a meter but moving to a house with one soon. Is this what it will cost me, at moment pay £48 10 times a year.

sorry to be thick but what is a hydrant license?i currently get my water for pole wash system at home.Ive only started this this yr,and so not wondering how i will claim on tax return nx yr but will cross that bridge when i come to it.Since using the system our bill has gone up £15 a month.
Can we get in trouble for using this water from home or are we supposed to tell someone like water board? If were not supposed to what are the other options available to me to fill up tank every day - a 250L system???
