extended but nothing i cant deal with. nobody said it was perfect but for the

any pole that is 3/4ft is good enough for wfp just cut to fit the screw for the brush, old wfp ideal if knacked you the top section sorted fits brushes already, I bought 2 4ft poles not used one at all, the other maybe a couple of time now, I prefer to use one pole to do all jobs but they are there if i need I guess, harris do a small pole that would be just as good IMO cheaper too.

He was also demonstrating his window cleaning techniques, this was always going to happen.  I don't think it is such a bad thing, as he has a chance to defend himself, and even maybe prove a couple of people wrong.  It has made it very interesting, I think more people should do the same, especially the ones who are criticizing, and the ones who are looking to improve some aspects of the way they work.

Did you clean trad before going over to wfp?  I just wonder how good those windows could really look upon close inspection after such a quick clean.  On the first video, the second upstairs window (in the middle)  doesn't get a rinse.

I'm just curious.  These have given me a glimmer of hope that WFP is quicker after all!!

I'm just doing the 2nd clean with wfp (after trad) and I'm still taking ages about it coz I don't want to leave a pants finish!

I like the idea of fan jets too.  What are the pro's and cons?  Also are they easy to change over?  I guess they're threaded.. is that right or are they glued?

J

Jewel, yes when I first started cleaning this estate I was trad. I have been using wfp for about 3 years now (I think?) And when I first started out with it I was very dissapointed with it, and actually went back to the ladders for about 3 months before deciding to really give it a go.

What you see in the clip is a maintenance clean, they are cleaned monthly and are not that dirty to start with! If however you were watching me on a first clean it would be a different story, I really give them a good scrub and rinse! My rule of thumb is this - 2 good scrubs and a rinse for monthly maintenance cleans, and one extra scrub for each extra month, if that makes sense, ie if they are 2 monthly I will give them 3 good scrubs and a rinse. Obviously if I can see that they are not clean after this ie bird muck or similar then I carry on scrubbing until they are clean. But in general this is not neccessary.

Persevere with the wfp mate, once you get the hang of it you won't look back, the estate I am cleaning on in these clips when cleaning trad, I would say that I could do about 20 or so houses in a day, with wfp I can do 40! And as I have said earlier I am not cleaning at full speed in those clips, that is slow!! If I was trying to be quick I wouldn't have bothered using the clamps at all, I would have used it as a clampless pole and simply thrust it upwards to the height I wanted, and let it drop back down for the downstairs windows!

peter while you are here, sorry to hijack your topic grounddog, do you have anything specific, like rubber tips, to fit the ends of the metal bar, on the autobrush, at the moment i cut a piece of hose in half then glue them to each end, and secured by plastic ties,

Jouk, I used to put protection on the ends of the bars but done away with them because they were not needed.  If someone does need protection for any reason then some insulating tape wrapped round the ends tightly does the trick.

i agree with a lot of what you were saying in your previous post.have been
wfp a year found it frustating at first.now most of the time its a dream especially
on maintenance cleans 4 weekly hardly need rinsing

next you will be getting a back pack ;D

grounddog, you tap one side of the window to turn it on, then tap other side to turn it of, this brush i use 1.5 fan jets, it is better than any control valve, i would recommend it to anyone

Your right Gary! the purpose of me posting these clips was to show how good the harris pole is! I wasn't trying to demonstrate my technique or how fast I can clean windows, as I said before I am normally much faster!

To be honest I didn't think that any of the slx users would admit that it actually looks like a good value pole, that is perfectly able to do a great job.

Which one of the flash pole brigade will be brave enough to post a video to show why their pole is worth over £400 more than my Harris pole?  ;)

to me it looked like an xtel but alot cheaper.

many us us may learn something from this, I will give it a try anyway because at that price it would be silly not to really . You never know till you try  ;)

You did clean tem windows quick and fair play to you if you can do them quicker with no complaints

peter i just dont like the idea that it could chip away through time, on the sides of the plaster on the window, plus its much quieter early in the mornings with the rubber  on it,

Just how do you get decent results?

Most panes received only 2 strokes.
No rinsing off the pane

It's a monthly maintenance clean, and I have found that two strokes is enough to get them perfectly clean! I am rinsing off the glass, the video is not that clear I know, but I am lifting off the glass about an inch or so.

Quite right if that's how you feel, I suppose it all depends on how heavy handed we are, I would just give it a slight nudge.

No offense Groundhog but that pole is nothing new, unger ali poles and others have been used for years by people. The only thing that is new is that it is £15,if it works for you fair play to you i aint knocking you but i couldn`t use it on my work as most of it is to high and that`s domestic. For those types of houses in the clips you`ll get away with it cos there not big houses, try posting a couple of clips of you using it on houses where your going to need up to 30ft or so over sloping roofs where the pole needs to be more ridgid, people will then be able to make up there mind easier you could get away with using basically any pole with windows of the height in the videos.
