bad arm through pressure washing vibration??
« on: May 22, 2008, 10:35:00 pm »
hi i have been working really hard of late and using the turbo a hell of a lot, always have an aching right hand and numb feeling in my right hand. the vibration from the lance is taking its toll,  i had a anti vibration glove but it felt awkward when using it.  im worried that i will end up with white finger or my whole arm in pain, my arm is aching now bad so its not good, anyone else had same problem? ???

suffered with swollen fingers and pain last year but not in the whole arm, white finger generally takes years to develop (I think!) but slight nerve damage or an injury is probably the most likely thing to be aware of shorter term if you have pain and especially through the whole arm. Its amazing how much strain your hand is under from hours of just holding the trigger of the gun tight. Would expect your arm pain to be muscular but as always to be sure go and see your GP.

Last year I also suffered down one side of my back and i think it was because the body is slightly twisted using the lance and the slight pressure caused one part of the back to be working while the other side wasnt.

I definatly seem to get afew aches and pains from time to time but i figure its just part and parcel of the job.

go to the docs  ;)

I have had this and went the docs as it drove me crackers at night.  All he gave me was iboprofen and vit b tablets.  Oh and told to rest!!

getting the blood rushing to your fingers will help with this kind of niggle.
You can do that by swinging each arm around 10 times in each direction as fast as you can. Doing it before you go to work in the morning and when you have finished at the end of the day is the best time.

my father has white finger and it took years to develop using serious peices of kit . if it is troubling you wear a couple of layers of thin gloves and that will help.

been really busy this last week, the whirlaway hasnt stopped!   Every day my right ( trigger)  hand is practically useless.

After a soak in a hot bath doing cold and hot it gets better.  Pluss wrapping it around a cold bottle of beer helps.
I find it is ok after a few hours but comes back the next day.   Had the trigger of the whirlaway tied on with a cable tie today and no problems .  I know this wouldnt work for lancing tho.
Veni, vidi, vino, splatus.

 (I came, I saw, I drank, I fell over...)

I use my kit all day and I have never suffered from vibration related problems. Just the shoulder and back as said before with one side of body doing the work

Could be you got some cavitation type vibration thats causing this. I can stand on my hoses while running and can hardly feel any vibration through my boots. Just how it should be
I'm always in the poo, it's just the depth that varies
