changing to wfp HELP
« on: April 30, 2008, 05:23:13 pm »
Hi all,im giving some serious thought to buying a wfp system,my plan is not to give up traditional but use both, especially on wet days when the ladder slips(happened today nearly had a heart attack),this would be really useful. Can anyone please advice me on what one to buy? I dont want a top of the range one as i will be using only sometimes. Also how much in total for a system? And how much ie parts, resin etc? Also does wfp clean the frames also? What about conservatory roofs? What about when the windows are really filthy first time? Would u advice an intial traditional clean first? One last question,i drive a hatchback is that ok for a wfp system? I dont want to go the van mount route. Maybe change to an estate? Im hoping i wont have to change my car. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

In my opinion if you want to work from your car or a estate then you will need a trolley system. Try purefreedom Andy is a great bloke who will help you decided what system is best for your needs.
I got a 250ltr ro system from them a while back and I think it cost me about £750 for everything and I wouldnt be without wfp now. We only use it for upstairs windows.
We dont use too mush resin we change it every couple of months and our filters are changed every 3-4 months.
Yes wfp cleans the frames but we found we needed a 'window cill' brush to get them decently cleaned.
Cons roof's are really simple with wfp makes like much easier and alot quicker.
We do 1st cleans with wfp upstairs. we first wash all the frames then go back around washing the glass and rinsing loads. if your doing a first clean with wfp just remember to rinse, rinse and rinse a little bit more
Good luck

Hi how big is the complete system? Would it fit in a hatchback? Does that £750 price include the pole and brushes? What do you think about backpack systems? Thanks David

Also do the systems require that you will need a tap or do they come with a container to store water? Sorry have no idea about these systems. Thanks

The 750 included everything
i had the tank, punp and hose reel fitted inside my van. I had the ro and di system fitted to a trolley and wheeled it onto my drive where i connected it to a outside tap and let it fill my tank overnight.
If your going to us 25ltr barrels you will also need a water but to store the pure water in and a transfer pump to fill the barrels.
I personally have never used a backpack so couldnt comment.

Hi,i called pure freedom today and got a price. He was saying the whole system is up and ready to go apart from a static storage tank. Do the water butts act as a static storage tank?? How easy is it to purify your water each night?? Finally is it easy to get a different pole fitted? (ie if i wanted to upgrade to a 30 ft pole) also do u need a shed and power supply to store the tanks? Any info would be great. Thanks

Yes the water butts are for water storage or you could use a 1000ltr ibc tank.
I have a 200gpd ro unit and it takes all night to fill my 250ltr tank. Nower days I just pull into my garage take the top off my 250ltr tank, put the pure water feed from the ro into the tank and turn my outside tap on simple as that.
The pump that Andy at purefreedom will supply will be more then capable with a 30ft pole.
Where are you based?

Hi im based in suffolk. Bit worried as i havent really got a shed as such but im sure i can work something out. Also how long would it take to purify 2 or 3 25L barrells. Im not planning on using wfp all day just on difficult windows and the odd cons roof. Although who knows i might like it and use it all the time. More importantly will i get the gear in a hatchback including the water barrells? Cheers
