What size hose for reach and wash?
« on: April 29, 2008, 09:28:09 am »
Hey all,

What is everyones view on what size of hose to use on a WFP system? Would a smaller bore diameter help to increase pressure at the jets but also allow the pump to run at a lower setting?

Your thoughts and words of wisdom please  ;D ;D

Well, physics states that water cannot be compressed, so if you run the same volume of water through a smaller diameter hose, the velocity of the water will increase.

However, you will put more strain on your pump.

Normal 6mm microbore is perfect, as most jets are 2mm anyway, so that is where the pressure will increase...

ironic tell me that they use a half inch hose as any smaller would kill your pump in 2 months....

Lying through their teeth.

Nice kinking hose they use with their systems then? I wouldn't like to use half inch hose, no matter how flexible.
