Hi Mike

I would think you would have to use full body gear and depending on the chemicals your using you would need to wear face mask & goggles. You would need to ask the forum on what chemicals to use as you would need to spray everything I would of thought.

Scabies are only passed on by skin to skin contact like holding hands etc and will not survive for very long off the skin.Once the people who have it are out the way and rubbing their cream on to kill them off you could just go in and give the office a good clean with disinvectant, bacterial surface cleaner etc and the smell will put their mind at rest.

Hi

I agree, but would still use full PPE - A full fumigation of the room would be necessary to stop re-infection from breaking out again plus it would put the other office workers minds at rest and it looks professional.

I said disenfect and clean with a bacterial spray,i didn`t just say create a smell like spraying it out of a can,the smell would let other workers know something had been done to ease their minds,if they haven`t been touching or shareing a bed they won`t catch it.In an old peoples home the nurse can change a bed or move a patient then go right on to the next so it would need more attention.

If the people in the office are treated with an over the counter cream  containing malathion  and the room is left empty for 72 hours the mites will die anyway, scabies don`t leap about like fleas, they are passed on by close contact then burrow under the skin, none of us are experts mate we just pass our opinions and personal knowledge to each other but like dg says quite rightly get professional advice and cover youself, good luck pal.
