floor tile sealer
« on: January 04, 2005, 05:18:24 pm »
i have a customer who has man made floor tiles (basic tiles with glaze finish, from tops tiles)the glaze has worn off,so they look quite dull,i have steamed cleaned the tiles & grout,is there any type of floor sealer which she can apply to the tile to brighten up the dull looking finish.

she has tried the polimer floor sealer but only lasts days (wears off) due to lack of bonding the the smooth tile finish)

Lee,

We have just been on the Chemspecs RX for wood course, since the course we have run trials on quite a few suraces other than just wood for their floor finish, as the prep chemicaly etches the floor allowing for better adhesion of the desired finish this might be worth  try,

You can only chemical etch the surface providing that the surface is either sealed, factory finished with a sealent of other liquid coated or polymer type finish, varnished stained or such like, the no sanding prep is what the retail name is called i was very sceptical about this at first until i went on the course, and was still sceptical about it after the course until we performed trials on many surfaces, the product works and that is all i can say,
