what is the best way to get like a mould stain off sealer? tried steam cleaning and stuff, not working

Having tried the same as you, at the end of the day, I will be digging out and re-sealing, love it sold as ante mould, but I suppose with a life expedience of ??

funnily enough, that will be on the agenda here too, only around the kitchen sink, and would you believe it, around the uPVC windows!!

This is the only way to get out mould from sealant.

It is a silicone based product, once the mould gets ingrained you have to cut out and re-seal.

Go to asda, safeway or one of the others and get a Dettox product called Mould and mildew remover, it comes in a bright green bottle. This will shift almost anything.....WARNING open the bathroom windows as it has a rather nasty stink to it, but trust me it a lot faster than removing and re-sealing.

Just after cleaning my shower cubicle tiles and grout.  Had to remove old sealant and replace with new although I maybe should have left longer to dry so it may not work.  Fingers crossed.

You cannot, I repeat CANNOT remove mould from sealant, it HAS to be cut out but I would love to be proven wrong, it would certainly make life easier.

After removing sealant a good lime scale remover may be need before you apply new sealant care is needed when using it some surfaces.

well josie
i'm going with martin, i had a word with my partners son who has been using these sealants for 17 years in the double glazing industry.
there is only one answer, dig it out and start again, the trick is to do two things, first is to thoroughly clean all surfaces and i mean deep clean second apply a commercial mould product and let dry, then re apply sealant.
if it is your own place the following is best practice
use bath/ shower - spray sealant with anti mould spray - hose off with shower head, everytime sealant is rubbed down it is abraided and these abrasions become the areas the the molud collects in so if at all possile avoid scratching the sealant
