If carpet cleaning goes to the dogs what else would be left? it's a high profit for a sole operator but you are limited to some extent to how much you can earn/get away with compared to selling  product as you can sell a product every second at a low profit margin but still make £millions but the risk is far greater.

Last thing to go bust are carpet cleaners, 1st ones are suppliers so even if they do make loads of money (Mr Kelly) then think of the risks they have and how they can't sleep at night choking on all of that money!

last recession was very busy for cleaners I know both John Kelly and I did very well, top to bottom all stop buying.

But everyone spends more time at home so need to keep it clean.

i think i'd go back to my old occupation, that of bed testing for DFS, 12 hrs shifts, you sleep like a log when you get home, laying down all shift is'nt half knackering. C.F.S

You should be turning it to your advantage. Simple message in your advertising "don't replace have it brought back to life"
"refurbish that tired sofa" etc etc.
A lot of people won't be wanting to spend money on new stuff so give them the idea of having it cleaned.
