how much can an employee earn for me (domestic)
« on: March 18, 2008, 09:31:56 am »
For about a year and half ive had a crack at setting up a domestic round with an employee doing the cleaning, my question is what do you think he should be earning for me on a daily basis, all the houses are quite well priced at £12 and up and quite close too each other.

Thanks

Daniel

Depends what you mean by "earn for me" :)
Do you mean the gross figure he brings in or do you mean what you get when all overheads have been taken out. at £12 per house, I personally would want one member of staff to be doing 15 houses minimum at that rate per day or it wouldn't be worth it!

£12 a house, all close together! I would expect 25+ a day to be cleaned!!! ;)

thats somewhere near the figure i would have liked, but he does seem to be slow, but he never gets complaints about his work so never has to go back to reclean etc. To be honest i have been quite happy with his figures im not greedy, but i dont wont him taken the pee, thats why i asked.

Ok, lets base this on £140.00 gross brought in per day by him.
so:
1) How much do you pay him per day? (Gross figure)
2) How many hours does he take to do £140.00 per day?
3) What £££ for overheads are you paying out in relation to him.
4) Are the properties priced correctly.
5) Have you ever watched him work when he doesn't realise you are watching.

You say you get no complaints about his work from customers......there isn't a monetary value for that, just a peace of mind bonus ;D

I could give you the answer but i`m fed up with people on here thinking i`m making figures up etc,the thing i will say is that if he`s earning for silly example £30 you should be paying him £10.

17-50 a hour!

To run a profitable business and cover cost of labour... min 25 max 30 a hour turn over, 3 houses should be done easily with close work at a min price of 10 pounds PER house, if you have him on a hourly rate! then that will be his problem! set his wages on a % of what he works
