Hi,

what seal do you all use for your van..

i have an expert, boarded out , but it obviously gets leaks and drops from hoses , and i am worried about the unseen damage its doing,

frightened of it dropping to bit s

the Dispatch van I just sold had vinyl cover on the floor, sealed where it met the lining on sides.wheel arches.
meant I could just wipe with a towel I had used on a job.

Ive used protecta Kote on my van floor, excellent stuff got it from Andrews water treatment you can also get it from pure freedom

I also use protectacote if you buy it leave all you van doors open whilst doing it and a good idea to get a mask its potent stuff.

Smelly stuff protecta cote, but does the job very well.

I did my expert with protekta cote.  2 lts exactly for 2 coats.  Smells good tho so keep doors and windows open ( for about a month )

I haven't put anything in my van
Depends how new it is, and how long you plan on keeping it.

If it's already 5 years old or more it may be of some use.

Mine's brand new, and being changed after 3 years.(well, 2 years from now)
Won't fall to bits by then, and it'll look far more presentable to trade in without all that mucky stuff painted all over it.

A little while back i decided to put a new ply floor down in my kangoo. It's the original ply floor from new & the van is coming up to 7 years old this june & it's been wfp for nearly 4 years. Anyway, i was a bit warey about what i'd find under the old ply as it was rotten through, mouldy etc. To my suprise the van floor was still like new, no rust, no paint bubbles or anything, so i just happily laid a new piece of ply.

I know most people on here who use protectakote take the ply up and paint directly onto the floor, usually i would do the same but my new van (expert) had such a good ply job done to it I did'nt want to rip it out. What i did was seal all the edges with self adhesive lead flashing tape (75 mm wide)its good strong stuff and water tight, i then painted protectakote on top of that and the ply. It looks great but i guess time will tell

protektacote mate its worth it for what it costs i done my van floor , both sides of my ply floor and about 4 inch up the sides of the van using masking tape for a straight line and finally i siliconed all edges just incase , ive seen some of my friends who had there vans speedlined and its just as good imo

i pulled up the carpet in the front of my dispatch and it was soaking. I used a tea towel to mop the water up in mine and got 4 pint jug fulls of water out of it from squeezing the tea towel.
I keep an eye on it now.

yes thats what prompted me to post van seal etc.
