I use ecover instead of fairy for cleaning windows, really it is fairy but without the harmful chemicals.

I cant believe the difference in my hands from previous years.

When my hands get a bit roughed up with the fibre glass pole, just a dab of Neutrogena "Norwegian formula" and my hands are back to normal

Another thing i have found is to look at which squeegie handle you use, i find black rubber or metal handles will stain your hands, switch to unger ergotec (The green one) and you will stay cleaner longer.

You can't beat fibreglass shards from an extender pole for slicing the dirt out.

I suffered badly with my hands and even went into hospital to see the dermatologist. They were cracked, dry and bleeding from always having them in water.
He sugested a good barrier cream and cotton gloves. Put a huge amount on your hands and put the gloves on then go to bed with them on. Yes it looks awful but after a few nights my hands self healed and I have had no problems with them since. Always put a cream on before you leave the house, keep some in the van and apply diring the day. After all you hands are your trade so they need looking after. But I have found the cotton gloves before bed the best.

The missus didnt mind either. She said I looked like Michal Jackson...or was she trying to tell me something.....

we all wear Marigold Nitrotough gloves when working, great especially when you reel the hose in with all that lovely dog dirt on the hose.

wouldn't do this job without gloves.

I always thought that this engrained black stuff on my hands was from the aluminium off my ladder as my wet hands slide down the ladder. How come wfp users get it. I cant get on with gloves i just accept that the only time my hands are clean is when i have been on holiday for 2 weeks.

if you are trad then I'd suggest a pair of magic gloves (one size fits all things) or a pair of thermal liners.

I think its important to keep your hands clean as you eat at lunchtime with your hands, you write receipts with your hands and people notice whether your hands are clean or not.

flaming dinkum, your all as bad as your wifes with all this stuff. Oil of olay anyone? Long term exposure to water and being outside can give you arthritus in your hands, a bricklayer friend of mine has been doing it for decades and his hands are now suffering from arthritus. I would use some moisturiser and some decent gloves.
