Purified water - totally clean?
« on: March 12, 2008, 08:12:21 pm »
Hi,

Today i cleaned a detached house using wfp,  then decided to have my lunch in the van..

after 15 mins, i looked at the windows, and it seemed they had already dried out due to it being very windy,  so i decided to take a closer look .

They had indeed totally dried out, but when i looked closely i could see very fine dirty marks where the last droplets had dried.

I always make sure my  water is 000 but i checked it there and then, it was fine, 000.

My brushes are clean , and i have been told i clean too much and rinse too much, but to me thats a good thing,

so why was the dirt there?... is it drying out too quickly that caused the problem?

or is dirt blowing on to the water as it dries? with the high winds.

will any of you guys do a quick check with your windows tomorrow please,

or is it that pure water simply does not dry out 100%.clean.

thanks.

Gary.

Rinse Rinse Rinse.

Just out of curiosity, how much water did you use on the property?

The wind will blow dust and dirt onto the wet windows. Not a lot you can do about it really apart from only working on windless days!

Yep, dirt in the wind. Don't worry until they mention it, then offer to come back and do the offending windows for free. Only had one customer everr complain about dust and he reckoned it happened every time. then he said he didn't like the water left all over the sills and on the floor! Derrrr! Needless to say told him (in a polite manner) to find another window cleaner. Just another muppet ;D

pure water is just that Pure the problem is it's always trying to be contaminated..

Like what has been said also there has been strong winds so that's the problem, we have also had a sand storm so there is a lot of dirt on the windows.. What I would do if I was you is clean the frames again and then you should be alright  ;)

Probably just the dirt/salt from all the wind we've been having! The windows have been getting dirty again the same day recently.

Agreed with most, the wind, i find though that if it's like small bits of grit, when the glass has completely dried it just blows off. the exact same thing happend to me last week, when wet they looked bad from an angle, all bits of grit stuck to the water. had mi snap, got out of van to have another look & they were fine, no grit! :)
