had to laugh today
« on: March 12, 2008, 04:08:37 pm »

3 guys from a big local firm turned up near to were I was working. Jumped out the van to do a big job. They had an entrance area each to do. One got a bucket out, the other two got holsters out. The one closet to were I was walked over to the entrance, wiped the door with his scrim and walked back to the van and when I say wiped I mean he run his scrim from about 5 foot to about two foot down the middle of the window. All in all they spent about 10 seconds each and were back in the van smoking and drinking coffee.

Great to see the same company have " No.1 window cleaners." On the sides of their van. I'm not being funny but these guys looked like they were all on probation.

No its wasn't them. It was the other local No.1. These cover chester more than Wirral. I just think its a bit daft how they manage to pull contracts in and don't do them.

They have safe contractor on their vans also, I bet they flew through the safety inspection. " So when we get here, we scrim a little bit of the window then drink coffee."

No mate, think red van! ;)

I had another local firm the other day drive up to my house in their van, slow right down and nose into the house. They then turned around bombed it down the road and slowed down again and nosed into the house again. They didn't realize that I was actually in the back of my van watching them.

Dave,

lad I have is really good mate. Connections let you interview in their offices. I would recommend waiting until G.C.S.E.'s finish in school and a fresh batch of youngsters are looking for work because the way I look at it, the ones in there now left last September and haven't found work or have found work and been binned!

To be honest I didn't have to show them anything. The interviewing was good and I got half an hour with each lad. I found 1/4 didn't show and 1/2 were chavs. Out of 8 lads there was 2 I would offer a job on the spot. A bit of a dvice though if they try to encourage you to take one of them on, don't I learned that the hard way.

apart for obvious like name, date of birth. Are you scared of heights, would you play an active role in advertising the company.

Best thing to do is write out thirty questions the week before you start interviewing. I googled for questions to ask.

My work is a bit all over the place at the moment. I have only worked on my commercial over the last few months. I will have to start building it up as I have all sorts of work coming in from a few other companies and I know if I just keep doing this it will dry up eventually so I need to invest in more of my own work now rather than later.
