Card Payments
« on: March 12, 2008, 01:40:48 pm »
Does anyone here accept card payments over the phone from customers? If so how do you operate this and how do the customers take to it? I do not havr a website so cannot accept payment that way, a couple of customers do a direct transfer over tinternet but haven't had much uptake with that.

I have customers sending me cheques, but have alot of cheques each month that costs me both at the bank and in the stationary, and also you get the usual problem of people dragging their heels abit, although I do not seem to have too much of a problem with this nowdays.

I want to set up so the people who are out when they are cleaned can ring in the evening or next day and make payment over the phone rather than sending cheques, my missus is at home all day so she can process the calls, most people can call from work easily enough within a few days.
People who are at home can pay there and then but not by card.

You can make card payments on Nochex website. You are the only one who needs to be registered. They can just put their card details in. It's a small fee, like Paypal.

Scud- We have a static home system so clients can call on an evening and pay over the phone.
Got it through the FSB cheaper if you are a member.
Costs : £15.00 per month rental and 2% of anything u take over the phone.
Hope this helps
Thanks Robbie

That seems fairly expensive, I will have to talk to my bank and start to look into this seriously.

Taking into account the envelopes and stamps, then the charges after I go over my free cheques they work out about the same, but add on the evening hassle makes that too much.
