Apology from Groundhog
« on: March 11, 2008, 11:16:17 pm »
Hi All,

I received this yesterday.

OK Hoggy could be a bit below the belt.  But, personally, I quite enjoyed the banter ;D ;D ;D

Hi David, I thought that I would contact you through your website, as I have been banned from the forum for the way I slated your site! I apologise for the things that I said, and although it was not meant with any malice, I can see that it may have come accross in that way. You are clearly a very decent hard working family man and I hope that I have not offended you in any way. I am missing the banter from the forum, but realise that I have over stepped the mark on more than one occassion! I would appreciate it if you could post an apology from me to the rest of guys on the forum for some of the things that I have posted that may have caused offence, although it was only intended as banter I realise I may have gone to far sometimes. Who knows they may allow me back onto the forum sometime, I never thought that I would miss it, but I do! I realise now how lucky we all are to have such a fantastic forum!!! By the way I can see that you have taken on board some of the more constructive criticism, and your site is looking really good now!! I like it a lot!!! Regards, Groundhog.

Anyway, I've done as he asked.

David

David. nice website, different approach and I like it.

You never appreciate a forum fully until you are banned and then you realise how much you are addicted even if you won't admit it to yourself, even if you love winding people up the wrong way. Most people enjoy a bit of banter, but a lot of banter tends to rub people up the wrong way if they are persistently being picked on. I miss Groundhog's persistent views.

Perhaps the Clean It Up moderators might add this for new forum members to read:    www.videojug.com/film/how-to-behave-on-an-internet-forum

The remark groundhog made was well out of order in my view  >:(

i cant work the bloke out i dont know if he just likes a bit of banter or hes just damn right rude

but then if he has given his sincere apologies then perhaps hes a nice bloke and weve just taken him the wrong way, hope to see him back but with a different choice of words

i miss Graham Gould bring him back as well ;D

Brett.

At least the guy emailed you to say sorry if he offended you, he didnt have to. thats the problem with the written word sometimes it can be read in many different ways.
I never read the post that got him banned so this comment is in general.

David, your site will get you work, I am yet to see many people on here that have one, as many dont, it comes across as you are very honest, just maybe a little to honest. (but then is that a bad thing to be honest :-\.

I wish you luck with it either way. And fair play to you for having a go at doing one in the first place.

With the constructive criticism put forward by groundhog and other contributors the end result has been that David has taken onboard the comments and ended up with a better website...IMO Daves site was blunt honest and straightforward some of the comments were, but banter was had by everyone..this site needs a little bit of that everynow and again or else it becomes dour listening to the same old gripes about the weather or squabbles about window cleaners earning capabilities.....liven up chaps.

I like Groundhog   ;D

he is one of those members that brought a sense of humor to the forum..

Even when I did not agree with what he said I still giggled at some of his post :D

I have not read what he said about Davids site, But if you want to know about the person behind the name just look at the E-mail he sent,
Like windowwashers said he did not have to do that, But he did

Look forward to seeing you again hog mate :D

 ::)

the guy was to arrogant and rude!! the comment he made was not constructive, it was Demoralizing, its so easy to sit behind a pc and attack other peoples work and ideas!

other peoples comments are in depth and constructive, a one liner saying crap isn't!! >:(

This forum can get guys posting in a way they would not act in their business life,
everyone has an opinion and sometimes they get very passionate about certain threads as I do at times, we all think we kow best. Everyone is different and what works well for one might not work for someone else.
We are all in the same boat and trying to make a living so after reading his email I think he should should be allowed back IMO, which counts for very little to some guys on here but there you go. ???

normally found groundhogs banter funny but on this occasion it was well
out of order personally i found it the forum version of spitting in someones face

makes me wonder sometimes about people on here if they would be
brave enough to act up if they had the person stood in front of them

The guy was out of order this time, and has been a lot of other times.

The site is better off without him and he is better off without this site.

Hi everyone, I'm back!!!! ;D

Thanks David for posting my apology, and once again I'd like to say a big sorry to anyone who I have offended in the past.

I have never meant to cause offence, I just get a bit carried away sometimes! :-[ I will try to think a bit more carefully about what I am typing in future, instead of acting impulsively.

I think that you are all a great bunch of guys (even squeaky!)
And as I said before this is a great forum, and I didn't really appreciate just how much  I liked it until I got banned!

Group hug everyone!!!  ;D

Groundhog, (the new improved version!!!)
