[L.Doubtfire - The Blade Runner]

Having run out of rainwater,I`ve had to go back to using my RO unit for producing
Pure water.When I first bought it,it took about an hour to produce 25 liters I think.
75 liters going down the drain in waste.It`s a 300 gall(US) model I got from a local
Water treatment company.Today, it`s down to exactly 15 liters of pure water in an
Hour.Is there anything I can do to speed up the pure water side of things? Or are these
Figures about correct? It`s about 3 to 4 years old I recon,the RO unit I mean.I hav`nt
Replaced anything at all in that time.The only thing I`ve done is switch on.It`s a pump
Assited model.Thanks for replies in advance.

same thing happened to mine, about the same age

check the cloth pre filter, its normally that, i dint know this so went and brought a new complete RO system, when i posted on here alex G said it will be the cloth prefilter and he was right

Mines the same slow and i changed my membranes about 4 or 5 months ago and it was fine then.

I thought i may be the cold making it slower i best change my prefilter and see if that speed things up.

Pipe that brings the pure water that says `post carbon `. Then there`s
The middle one that say`s pre-carbon `and the end one where there`s
A red pipe that leads in the tap water from the saddle valve clamp `thingy`.
Is it the `pre-carbon `one that needs changing? If so,how much are they?

I would imagine all of your pre-filters would need changing.   What you could try is setting the Unit to flush for a couple of hours as it sounds like you haven't used it much in the last few months.

The post carbon one is really a waste of time for making water for window cleaning. It's normally found on drinking water systems to make the water taste better so it's really redundant.

You should change the other 2. Not just the sediment. The carbon filters are there to take chlorine out of the water because it ruins membranes.

RO-MAN do sets of filters as do a lot of suppliers. Mind you if the place that you bought the system from in the first place is there just pop down and get replacements there.

Ohh  I remember.. gardiners do filters.. lemme look..

You deffo want the 10 inch sediment one and eithere the GAC or carbon block.. I would ask Alex or Kirsty for advice on the best carbon one to get.
