Leaflets/flyers
« on: March 10, 2008, 03:55:27 pm »
Hi guys just in, been out from 8 this morning posting flyers/leaflets.  Got 4 monthly jobs out of it so far. Its my first time posting them so not sure what the response will be.  The areas i targeted obviously hadnt had a window cleaner in a long time coz they were filthy.

Currently getting about 5 jobs from every 300 leaflets.  No canvassing.

But yeah, sometimes can take a month or two for them to ring.

I haven't done a proper leafleting campaign for a good while, mainly because of time, but what we have just started doing is a "5 & 5" policy which works well and targets areas where you are already covering.

When we are out doing a job (windows/carpets or whatever), if possible we drop leaflets in the five houses to the left and five houses to the right of the one we are doing.

The response has been better than excellent, got a 6/10 response from one drop within 3 days of delivering.

Another one we did went into the house of the manager of a local National Trust property, he rang us up and we have now got the contract to cover the janitorial duties at the property 3 days a week, plus holiday cover as well as the window cleaning contract for the visitor centre and the main house.

I've also got a meeting with him to discuss more specialised out of season cleaning of the house and main areas.

if you hit the right area leaflets can work.....
if you hit the wrong area it's a waist of time.....

i actualy pencil in the price on my leaflets before i post them ,  underneath the price i ask them to allow £3-£5 extra if they have a conservatory....  i always pencil in a good price....

i posted about 75 leaflets last sunday.  and had 6 phone calls for monthly cleaning and 1 fascia and gutter clean for £110.

but in my experience people can phone a few months later.....

i have also found that actualy knocking on the houses that were leafleted a few weeks later can work well ;)

I also do leaflet dropping but building up my business is slow and I started in August last year and I have only just got about £300 worth of work every 4 weeks and my aim was to get a £1000 worth of work by this August so I have 6 months to pull in £700 worth thats just over £100 a month for next six months that I need to pull in - what other ways can I drum up some business to meet my target as I really need to get rolling?

door knocking is the fastest way to build a round.......

Have to agree with that aswell, doorknock and leaflet the ones not in then go back and knock again the ones that are out,

Its interesting to see the different response rates from different flyers,... obviously some of it is influenced by the area you're in,.. but a lot of it is down to design too.
It'd be great to see a few examples of the flyers that achieve the higher response rates posted here,.. if you guys are willing to share??

I was at a Tourism Distribution Day on Thursday, giving out our Pedal-Power cycle hire leaflets to hotels, B & Bs, Self catering properties etcs.

I also had a pile of my Lionheart Cleaning Services Ltd leaflets on the stand so people picked those up as well as they passed.

So far I have secured 18 cleaning jobs from it, mainly carpets but also a good few regular window cleans and some regular facilities cleaning.

This is a prestigious one that we have just got from it, windows 4 times a year (house and visitor centre, inside and out), also cleaning 4 sets of toilet facilities every morning throughout season, Molly maid (franchaise) were doing them but were apparently cr*p and were in and out in 20 minutes, we've quoted 2 people for 2 hours every day, starts tomorrow.
