Battery life on shurflo backpacks
« on: March 08, 2008, 09:07:43 am »
Hi all,

I have just started to convert form trad to WFP and have been useing a back pack but the battery life only lasts about half a day. Even after a good charge.
The back pack just stops and then restarts after about 40 sec's  but only lasts another 30 sec's, so I presume that its the battery.

How long does the battery last on other people's back pack ?

Thanks for any info

I use a backpack, not Sureflo but same thing.  From full charge it will keep going constant use for about 4 - 5 hours max.  2 1/2 years old.

Basil,

It's almost impossible to run a back pack battery down if it's in good working order.

Did you charge it for about 24 hours from new?  The first charge is for about 24 hours and subsequent daily charges only take a couple of hours.

I bet you didn't!

 Thanks,
I charged the battery over the weekend so it has had well over 24 hours on charge, I will let you know how I get on when the weather gets a little better.

My next course of action is to get a spare battery for back up.

The instruction booklet tells you to charge for 8 hours after every use - basically overnight each day.  I used to do this but soon get fed up with it.

I've had mine for over 2 years now and the battery does me 3 days without charging before I notice a drop in performance - I only wfp upstairs though.

Hope that helps a bit.
