The new expert is the same van with a different badge ie peugeot, the only thing that`s different is the front of these vans it`s a bit like trafic-vivaro-primaster,i looked at the peugeot version and there not cheap either i was quoted about 18k.

Seen a brand new dispatch/expert today, 1.6hdi comfort 1000kg payload 8.995

To be honest, where my work van is concerned power &/or speed is of no importance to me at all. If it moves i'm happy. ;)

650ltrs of water and all the other kit with a small engine would struggle and the re sale value would be better with a 2ltr version, you want to be looking at around the 1200kg mark for all that weight.Don`t forget a tank of fuel can weigh 70-80kilos.

resale value is also of no importance either, if i buy new i run it for long enough for it's resale value to have little relevance but would look at the 2.0 versoin anyway before commiting.
A very good friend who owned a few motor dealaships for good few years told me (in confidence :D) NEVER base your decision on the resale value of any motor vehicle. He told me why but i'm not starting this one so late at night. ;)

Only the norm mate what we already know, i'm in limbo with it at the mo', cant decide which size to go for. i'm in soft water area (south east scotland) & no one has water meters up here (water rates are in with council tax, you can't have a meter if you want one!) so i can fill up at any custy's garden tap (& do regular). I only have a kangoo now & to be honest i don't realy need any more room. ???

I love the new doblo, was looking round the car version last week, was impressed with the room inside & like you say, they're pretty cheap compared.

Just got this info on the new berlingo- 850kg payload ;)

New Citroën Berlingo LCV: Practical and functional, yet strong on styling and comfort

The compact van version of the New Berlingo is big on load volume, payload and versatility, which are key features for professionals. It has a huge loading area (3.3 m3, up to 850 kg of payload and 1.8 m of useful length) that can take two Europallets width-wise, and is available with an Extenso® modular cabin, able to transport loads up to 3 metres long and increase useful load to 3.7 m3 or seat three people at the front.

The New Berlingo also offers passengers saloon-like levels of equipment for comfort and driving pleasure, including hill start assist, a height- and reach-adjustable steering wheel, C4 Picasso running gear and ESP. The New Berlingo is a modern working tool that confers prestige on its owners through its robust and dynamic styling.

The launch of the New Berlingo follows those of new Jumper, new Jumpy and Citroën’s latest compact van, Nemo. Citroën thus offers professionals the largest and most complete line-up of light commercial vehicles in its history, covering a wide range of needs, from 2.5 m3 to 17 m3 of load volume and up to two tonnes of payload.

I got a new doblo 1.3sx new in Nov 2006 and it's fine for me, 736kg payload - single operator with 400L. It has side doors, leccy windows, abs, bulkhead as standard, also computer which tells me I average 40/42mpg when w/cleaning and when on a drive of say 10 miles plus it goes up to 50mpg.

We've got a shed of a car for the family so it's mileage is v.low and still not reached 10,000 miles in a year and four months!

I do have to go home to get more water in it mid afternoon occasionally so this easter I'm strapping 2 x 25L containers to the bulkhead and arranging a syphon so they can run into the main tank. That will be pushing the payload to it's limit tho, so looking ahead to the end of the lease (Oct 2010!) and all things being equal I still aim to be self employed owner operator and will probably go for a 650L 3 seater so a payload of 1000kg plus.
It's a game of three halves!

The Dispatch is the 2.0 ltr version. I have a 500 ltr tank and two large DI vessels on my system. The Payload is 1200 kgs as its the LWB version. I also pull a trailer for commercial work and the 2.0 hdi ltr has no problems with the weight at all. It has three front seats. The Hand break is on the right of the drivers seat but Im getting used to that now.

I have it on a lease, I got it from Varitech as they have a deal with Citroen. I was amazed at the cost, a lot less than I thought and of course its good for tax purposes.

I have added a couple of inside pictures so you can see the space available.

That looks really good with loads of space left
Just one question though should the tank be fitted nearer the middle of the van just for stability and spreading the load
