Window blinds
« on: December 08, 2004, 10:45:31 pm »
I often work at a local Hospital, after finishing a job last week they asked me if I could clean the blinds for them.

They are standard kitchen/Bathroom type blinds (not vertical) and are quite badly stained by the flowers constatly being pushed against them.

Question is can I clean using normal HWE/microsplitter method, also I will have to take them down so I can do both sides,  also what price roughly per blind.

Thanks
Phil

Retailing blinds is my other business . The cleaning instructions are place them on a flat surface and wipe them down with mild  warm soapy water.

I did try Nicks sample Micro Splitter on a grubby one the other day.

Spayed it on and then wiped over with Terry Towel no problem,

I have also used extraction machine. Just be careful at stitching and braiding also do not use a high temp.

If rollers are spring loaded be careful as they are hard to respring.

If you have an old blind at home experiment on this first.

Important

Do usual colour run tests as somes dyes are not stable especially the canvas looking ones.

Most blinds are made out of polyester.

Do not iron blinds.

Do not machine wash unless you are !00% sure they are machine washable.

Roman blinds usually have to be dried clean.
