Any mono-filament brush will have more scrubbing power due to sharper bristle ends. It also helps if the bristles are all slightly (0.3mm-4mm) different lengths in each bunch, as this creates new bristle impact as you move the brush on the glass.

Heres what I found with the Unger ( Unger but made by Vikan ) and the Mono Vikan rectangulars. The Unger has alot more scrubbing power ( even though it is flocked ) and aslo it splays into corners much better but I still much prefer the Mono Vikan for various reasons, oh and the jets are 3mm as standard on the Unger so get that changed if you order one,  Luke

Ive have the following brushes:

Ionics Mono Dual Trim
Vikan Flocked Oval
Vikan Mono Rectangular
Unger Flocked Rectangular ( nothing like the vikan flocked even though it is a Vikan really)
Super-lite ( Bentley )

My brushes of choice is the Vikan Mono and Super-lite brushes. Hopefully Alex's new brush will replace my favourites

i have teh unger / vikan square brush - it's the only one i've used i don't think it's bad - but  do get some spotting on some windows - do you think the vikan oval mono would be better !??

no, go for the vikan monofilament. The unger ( made by vikan ) is better than the vikan flocked though, luke

Tucker is the best scrubber. Green, black, poo, whatever, even lichen on conservatory roofs.

I think as saw a photo of the bristles on alex's new brush (or did I imagine it?) and they looked just like tucker brushes. So here's hoping that the new gardiner brush will be a tucker brush that fits on a standard gooseneck!

Its easy to make a Tucker fit a standard thread, buy the following:

Tucker ( flat back )
thread plate ( get off a brush or buy one online )
jets and hose

Glue or screw the thread plate on the back and gluse jets over or in the jet holes of the Tucker, simple, Luke
