CCDO Leather
« on: February 20, 2008, 10:07:03 pm »
I would like any of the guys to bring with them any leather problems they may want me to discuss or even work on, pigmented leather only for this day please guy's ( any cushions of swatches etc).
If any body has a real heavily soiled white or cream cushion or seat to work on, the more the better.

Also Roger Koh ( Leather Doctor) has been in touch and will be sending me some leather kits for the guys to try out. As many you know Roger is a very experienced leather tech in Canada and has some excellent systems for leather cleaning and restoration, for all leather types.
More info on this to follow.

Roger has sent me a picture of the Leather kits he proposes to send across to us. They retail at over £80 but he is going to send  some over free for us to try out ( we may have to pay the import tax though which wont amount to much).
If any of the guys coming to the CCDO would be interested in this kit, then can I have a show of hands as it will dictate how many Roger sends  over.

By the way Rogers cleaning and restoration techniques are quite unique and has a different approach with ph sensitive chemicals and fatliquors. Some thing I am very interested in at the moment with aniline leathers.

Dan read the sticky at the top of the site.

I think places are starting to get limited now, so give Jason or Pete a ring quick and book a place.
If you come you can travel down with us.

Do these degreasers extract the grease or clean it off the surface?
Why would you need to re fat liquor modern upholstery leathers?
Is this system over complicated?
How long will it take to clean with this system?
How much would you charge for this method?

Don't need the information Paul as we teach IICRC leather cleaning and beyond.

Have been talking to Roger for a long time now as he seems to get his info from IICRC.

Will be good to meet up with him later in the year to discuss his opinion.

We are always interested to investigate new systems and are interested to know whether they can stand up to the scrutiny that they will come under from professionals in the business.

Just wondered if you knew Paul as you will be 'teaching' it on CDDO.

I take it then Paul you will be coming on our next IICRC course to find out all about it?  Save you travelling to USA to do it.

ANDY was banned from coming to CCDO having tested sacrificial sponges for Paul and giving him the correct results.
